How accurate are the train arrival times?
We use official MTA real-time data feeds, updated about every 30 seconds. While we strive for accuracy, MTA train times feeds are estimates and can change due to service conditions. The farther out a train, the less accurate the arrival time. Generally trains less than 10 minutes away are the most accurate. Always have a backup plan for important appointments.
How does the "Walk or Run" feature work?
Our algorithm calculates the actual walking route to each station entrance, estimates your walking time based on typical pace, and compares it to train arrival times. If you can make it comfortably, we show "WALK" πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈ. If you need to hustle, we show "RUN" πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ.
Why does the app need location permission?
Location access allows us to find nearby subway stations and calculate accurate walking routes. Basic features work with "When Using App" permission. Premium notifications require "Always Allow" to send timely alerts when you're near your stations.
What are Premium features?
Premium features include background location tracking and smart push notifications that alert you when it's time to leave for your commute. Premium features require a paid subscription managed through your app store.
How do I cancel my Premium subscription?
Subscriptions are managed through your device's app store (Apple App Store or Google Play Store). Go to your app store account settings to view and cancel subscriptions. We cannot process cancellations directly.
Does the app work offline?
The app requires an internet connection for real-time train data.
Is Subway Run affiliated with the MTA?
No, we are not affiliated with or endorsed by the MTA. We use publicly available MTA data feeds to provide real-time information. Subway Run is developed by HyperLocal Social, Inc.
